At Spectrum we enjoy overcoming installation issues or hurdles that present a challenge. Our experienced and reliable team enjoy taking the opportunity to solve a problem and that’s exactly what they managed in Hoeford recently.
The bus depot we attended to in Hoeford needed a camera installed in a position that would be able to view the diesel storage tank. While this wasn’t initially an issue, our team deduced that the only place they would be able to affix a camera to that would be at the correct angle was on the side of a building clad in asbestos.
Asbestos is an incredibly dangerous material that when inhaled can cause serious and life-threatening illnesses. When dealing with cladding made of the material, our team had to exercise caution to ensure a safe installation of the camera. To do so, we installed a 5m galvanised pole on the side of the building which we then attached the camera to. In order to prevent penetrating the asbestos, we affixed the pole to a low concrete wall set beneath it. Doing so meant that the asbestos could be left untouched, creating a safe environment. Thanks to the installation of this brand new camera, the bus depot’s diesel storage tank is now more secure than ever.
