James Completes Tavcom Training Mains Compliance Course

We’re very proud and excited to announce that our own James has completed his Tavcom Training Mains Compliance course.

Completing the course means that James now qualifies as a ‘competent person’. Being a ‘competent person’ means you can work safely with electrical supplies, once you’ve demonstrated the necessary qualification. This is of course crucial to someone who works in the security industry - anyone who works on or near a live electrical supply is covered by the electricity at work regulations and has a statutory duty or care to ensure that work is carried out by said competent person.

The course was specifically designed for security system installers and maintenance engineers working on or near live supplies. The course is designed to reduce the risk of electrical injury while also ensuring companies comply with the electricity at work regulations 1989. The Tavcom Training Mains Compliance course teaches a number of skills, including how to install fused spurs and carry out other work in a safe and efficient manner. Having completed the course, James is able to undertake minor works to existing circuits, for example, adding additional sockets.

James successfully passed the course by achieving the required standard in accordance with Tavcom’s assessment criteria and we’re proud of what he’s achieved. If you’re in need of any security solutions, get in touch with us on 01753 754890.
