In the midst of the ‘new normal’, workplaces and businesses are having to adjust their safety and security measures to ensure the wellbeing and health of their staff and visitors. Temperature screening is becoming a key requirement in pubs, offices, schools, airports and some shops, though some are attempting to provide this service manually, putting workers at risk and making temperature checks a time-consuming and inefficient safety requirement.
To help combat this, HikVision have developed a range of Thermal Detection Solutions to suit premises of various capacities. These Thermographic Cameras can detect temperatures within one second, with an accuracy of up ±0.3°C.
At Spectrum, we are NSI Systems Silver Accredited and have years of cross-industry experience in designing and implementing security and fire solutions in commercial and residential premises. This means that we can recognise a great product when we see one - and that is why we teamed up with HikVision to discuss their Temperature Screening range of cameras.
As a quick overview, HikVision offer the following Thermal Detection Solutions, explained in detail in the webinar:
- Economical Temperature Screening Cameras:
Accurate to +/- 0.5 degrees • Bi spectrum camera, 4MP optical and Thermal • Thermal resolution of 160*120 • One Alarm output • Available in a 3mm (0.8-1.5m) or 6mm (1.5-3m) • Mask detection.
- Professional Temperature Screening Cameras:
Accurate to +/- 0.5 degrees • Bi spectrum camera, 4MP optical and thermal • Thermal resolution of 384*288, providing a wider scope of temperature measurement coverage • Two alarm outputs • Available in a 10mm (2-7m) or 15mm (2.5-9m) • Mask detection.
These cameras can be used with the following platforms, which also connect to local alarms and provide email/message notifications:
- Thermal camera with 4200 Hikvision Software
- Thermal camera with NVR
- Thermal camera with Deep in Mind NVR -
If you would like facial recognition combined with thermal screening, then choose the Deep in Mind X series NVR with special firmware. Once populated with faces, it can alert you to who has a temperature. Can be used with either low or medium resolution cameras.
Alternatively, HikVision also offers:
- Two handheld camera options - The Eco and Pro Series, with Wifi connectivity, Bi-Spectrum view, an Audio alarm, tripod mount and 4-8 hour battery life.
- Metal Detector door station with Thermal Camera
- For filtering at entrances, you can use the metal detection doorway, which acts as a metal detector and comes equipped with the low resolution thermal camera for temperature screening.
- Facial recognition terminal with temperature screening - These MinMoe terminals can be used as just a thermal screening device or as a facial access control terminal with mask and temperature screening. Entry can be controlled if you have a temperature, or are not wearing a mask.
