We are delighted to be aligning with Integrated DesignLimited (IDL) to ensure their optical turnstiles, speedgates, barrier armturnstiles, passgates, tripods and tailgate detection devices integrate withour recommended CCTV and access control systems.
There are various types of unauthorised access that can putyour building or business at risk. From jumping over barriers to fake IDs, atSpectrum we ensure that your risks are minimised by offering the highest levelof security systems available.
Here are some of the most common types of unauthorisedaccess and how IDL entrance controls prevents them.
Tailgating
Tailgating occurs when someone follows an authorised individual through a door, often as a result of the user holding the door for that person. Training for authorised users on awareness of this problem is very useful, however installing entrance controls is more reliable.
Many of IDL’s turnstile ranges use advanced infrared technology to optimise and monitor the passage of individuals entering and leaving a facility, and fast-acting glass barriers or barrier arms to physically deter unauthorised access and tailgating as close as 5mm.
Pushing, Climbing Over or Crawling
This type of unauthorised access involves individuals pushing barriers, climbing over or crawling underneath them to gain access to a building. With Fastlane technology, IDL’s turnstiles detect pushed barriers, alerting security staff to unauthorised entry attempts by triggering audible alarms. These alarms can then optionally trigger other security actions, such as CCTV or locking door. Integrating systems is an essential part of our Spectrum security systems, as well as regularly and comprehensively maintaining each security system.
Access Cards
Access cards can pose similar problems to the use of keys, including the potential to be lost, stolen or shared. While access cards can identify authorised users who swipe in with an access control reader, they can be duplicated, and are susceptible to wear and tear.
Biometric security, such as fingerprinting, voice and facial recognition, is immune to wear and tear, and adds an extra level of security. We have extensive experience in all types of security door systems, particularly audio and video entry systems that can give you peace of mind on the security of your business.
